We Keep Growing Stronger

First United Methodist Church of Boulder is blessed with creative and compassionate leaders who are passionate about bringing God’s love to the points of many human needs, to create community in many ways and to make justice a way of life in our world. Both our staff and volunteer leadership touch countless lives in countless ways, each and every day. Our ministry, mission and outreach grow stronger all the time because our leadership is engaging all kinds of people in meaningful ministry. Thanks to you all.

Our ministry together is both expanding and growing in depth. Both Joe and I are convinced this will continue both in ways we are planning now and in ways that we haven’t even imagined yet.

In response to our increasing ministry, mission and outreach, Joe and I have re-thought our primary pastoral leadership responsibilities for 2012. We envision that the two of us will be in fewer meetings together this year. At the same time we will be in continual communication with one another.

This is a list of primary pastoral leadership responsibilities as we are seeing them for 2012:

Pat – Church Council, Staff Parish, Trustees, Property Committee, Building Use, Finance, Finance Campaign, Worship and Music, Arts for the Soul, Family Life Ministries, Communications, Office, Supervision of Staff, Lay Leadership/Nominations, Creation Spirituality, Labyrinth, Pastoral Care

Joe – Welcome/New Members, Outreach, Reconciling Ministries, Justice Activists, United Methodist Women, Adult Education (Adult Forum and Bible Workbench), Sacred Bites, Theologian-in-Residence, Wednesday of Wonder (WOW), Conversation Group

Let me know if you have any questions.

I look forward to seeing you Sunday. In the meantime, please keep our beloved church in your prayers. I remember you in mine. See you soon.

With love,

Pat

This Sunday, January 22nd, Pat’s message will be “Time to Hold On. Time to Let Go” based on Mark 1:14-20.

In this story Jesus offers an invitation. “Come follow me,” Jesus says. Without hesitation the first disciples drop what they are doing and follow Jesus into an unknown future. How can they do that? How can we do that? What does it mean to follow Jesus today?
