Fourth of July
Jessica will be out of the office next Tuesday, July 3rd. The church office will be open from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm on Tuesday thanks to some of our wonderful office volunteers. On July 4th, the church building will be closed in observance of the Independence Day holiday. Jessica will be back in the office on Thursday, and church office hours will return to normal then. Happy July 4th everyone!
Adult Forum
One of the four Millenial Goals of the United Methodist Church is the alleviation of poverty. Thomas Kemper introduced our congregation to the new “Ministry With” concept of working with the poor. We will re-view the video and discuss how FUMC can be in mutuality in mission. Join us at at 9:00 am in the Church Parlor.
What Do You Want For Your Children?
Pat Bruns and Betsy Lay are hosting a conversation with the parents of our children. We will gather on Saturday, June 30th at 9:30am in the FUMC youth room to explore the question, “What do you want for children at FUMC?” Join us as we explore the dreams that we hold for the children of our church. Email Betsy if you need childcare.
Matsiko World Orphan Choir!
The Matsiko World Orphan Choir, a touring musical group of orphans that is part of the International Children’s Network, will perform at FUMC Boulder on Saturday, July 7th at 7 pm and during Worship on Sunday, July 8th. Mark your calendar and plan to attend! There is a $10 suggested donation for the Saturday night show. The Choir’s mission is to make known the plight of the many orphaned children around the world and raising support through bookings and sponsorships. UMW News
A big thank you to Ruth and Rich Irvin for opening their home for the annual summer tea and their great hospitality. A great time was had by all and it was truly creating a supportive fellowship. There will be NO Executive meeting in July and the sub-groups will re-start in September. The School of Christian Mission is July 12th-14th at St Andrews United Methodist Church in Highlands Ranch, there is also a one day event on August 25th at Brentwood UMC. The grocery gift card sales in grocery gift cards will benefit Arts for Kids’ Souls summer camp program.
Volunteers Needed in the Church Office in July
Jessica Harbeson, our Receptionist/Secretary, will be traveling to California to visit family in mid-July. While she is away, we hope to have the church office open Tuesday-Thursday, 9:00-1:00 pm, but these hours are dependent on finding volunteers to staff the office. If you’d like to help with a two-hour shift on July 17, 18, 19, or 24, please contact Jessica today at 303.442.3770, ext. 101, or office@fumcboulder.org. Thank you for your willingness to help!
