Today campers worked and played hard. Ms. Stella and Clara led the campers in practicing for the song that they will perform on Friday and Sunday. In fabric arts, the children wrote good thoughts and blessings on their prayer flags. Ms. Cheryl and Ms. Judy helped campers finish painting their pottery. Ms. Laura made sure that campers learned how to dance as light as a feather. Ms. Heidi taught groups bridge and wheel poses. Barb and the parents had very meaningful conversations together. We’re excited to see what tomorrow will bring!

From the mouths of babes… quote of the day:
“We’re heading downstairs to the Labrador for music!” said by Kellan, on his way downstairs to the Labyrinth.
And one more because they’re just so cute – When asked what was her favorite animal pose from yesterday, Greta (Water) shouted “Unicorn!” There was no unicorn pose, but instructor Heidi Lewis will certainly have one tomorrow!

The “Coffee for the Soul” parents group had a meaningful discussion based on the following prompt: Moment to Moment. “The past is no more and the future is not yet: both are unnecessarily moving in directions that don’t exist. One used to exist, but no longer exists, and one has not even started to exist. The right person is one who lives from moment to moment, whose arrow is directed to the moment. One who is always here and now; wherever they are, their whole consciousness, their whole being is involved in the reality of here and the reality of now. Here and now is the Golden Gate and you can be in the present only if you are not ambitious…no accomplishment, no desire for power, money, prestige, even enlightenment, because all ambition leads you into the future. Do not think, just see and enter the gate, experience will come but cannot be premeditated.Life is a great ocean in which you can play if you drop all your judgments, preferences, attachments to long-term plans. Be available to what comes your way, as it comes. If you stumble and fall, just pick yourself up, have a good laugh and carry on!….” (Excerpted from Osho Tarot)

Parents remember to sign up for our AFKS Camp show (12:30-12:45 on Friday) and family picnic immediately following the big show! Also, parking in the FUMC parking lot is not available since all the spaces are leased out, but parking along the streets (be sure to pay the kiosks) or across Spruce St. in the parking structure is your best bet for avoiding a ticket! Come join us on our cushioned pews and enjoy the show your kids are creating for you!
Truly, you each have some very special little artists!
