Take Me Out to the Ball Game: Rockies vs. Padres with Your FUMC Friends 9/17
With Love from Pat
August 12, 2016
We’re going to have our annual Take Me Out to the Ball Game church baseball outing on Saturday, September 17th
– our own Colorado Rockies vs. the San Diego Padres. First pitch is 6:10 pm
. We have 25 tickets in section 144 rows 16 and 17. This is midway between 3rd base and the left field wall and is a good place to watch the game and maybe even catch a foul ball.
The ticket cost is $27. Email me to reserve your tickets: patrickrbruns at gmail dot com. They tend to go fast. Make your check payable to FUMC, and mark “baseball” in the memo line. Please give me the check so I can keep track of who has paid.
Our Rockies are coming on strong of late, so it will be fun to watch them play in September. Baseball games are like short stories filled with excitement and despair, with anticipation and with dread, with fast action and moments that simply drag. It’s a lot like life…but life that is centered in ever-renewing hope. So much can happen in an inning even when there are already two outs! No game is over until it’s over. A new game always starts with a clean slate. And yes, we can always wait until next year.
A baseball game offers us a chance to simply relax, rest, and allow ourselves to be renewed. I hope you can join us for a beautiful evening at the old ball park.
