Saturday, May 12: Intergenerational Field Trip to “Messy Church”

We invite children and youth of all ages and their parents to a great opportunity to check out a possible ministry idea for FUMC at Rinn United Methodist Church; it’s called Messy Church! Rinn UMC is a country church about 20 minutes away from FUMC, and each month they host a family-style inter-generational service on the second Saturday of the month at 2:00 pm. You are invited to participate in a field trip to Rinn UMC on May 12th to check out all the fun. The Messy Church experience takes place from 2:00—4:00 PM. Let’s meet and carpool from FUMC at 1:15pm on May 12th, or you can meet us at Rinn UMC at 2:00 PM. For more information or for directions to Rinn UMC, email our Director of Family Life Ministries, Ellie Brown. Hope you can join us!

Saturday, May 26: Mission Opportunity--Peanut Butter and Lovin’ at Wesley Chapel

Join us on Saturday, May 26th, from 1:00—4:00 PM for an outreach ministry to the homeless community. We’ll meet at Wesley Chapel on CU Boulder’s campus to make peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, and then we’ll hand out the food we made and talk with the homeless people we meet. Families are encouraged to participate in this mission together. This is also a great time to familiarize ourselves with Wesley Chapel, which is the Methodist Campus Ministry at CU Boulder. Email Ellie to RSVP, and to learn more!

Sunday School and Child Care

9:00-11:45 Nursery care is available for ages 0-4 in the first-floor nursery/preschool rooms from 9:00 am until the end of worship service.

10:45 - 11:45 Children ages 5-11 are welcome to attend Children's Sunday School, which meets during our 10:30 am worship service; children attend the first part of worship with their parents, and are escorted to Sunday School by a Sunday School teacher after the Children's Time. Children learn lessons and participate in activities and crafts, often centered around the same scripture reading their parents are hearing in worship that morning.

Safe Sanctuaries

Safe Sanctuaries is an overt expression in making congregations safe places where children, youth, and elders may experience the abiding love of God and fellowship within the community of faith. Click on the blue text above or the Safe Sanctuaries logo to learn more about these practices and how they are implemented in congregations around the country, including ours.
