Lectionary Class
Are you relatively new to FUMC? Here’s a great opportunity for you to get to know others! Join Jon and Karen (two of our best leader/teachers) from 9 to 10AM Sundays (except during the summer months) for our Lectionary Class in the Conference Room on the second floor. Everyone is welcome, but a special invitation is extended to those who are new to our Church.
The class offers an opportunity, in a small group setting, to get to know each other better. The class is centered around the bible lectionary scripture for the week. The exploration begins with a discussion of what is happening in the biblical text. The focus then shifts to how this story is happening in the world around us. Finally, the questions turn toward how the story is relevant in the lives of the people in the group. Class participants are invited to engage the Bible, rather than just learn about it or understand it, as they explore how the Bible story may be their story as well.
