November 27th is the First Sunday of Advent. In what can be an all too busy or nearly overwhelming season, Advent offers us the gift of slowing down and taking time.
Advent offers us time to hear, to see and to share what God is really like and what we can really be like. Advent offers us time to ponder the idea that with the coming of Jesus, God showed us an authentic way to a full and meaningful life. Advent offers us time to prepare for God to come into our lives and into our world in new, vital and exquisite ways.
Now is the time to look for God’s presence. God dwells within us and lives among us. God works through us and far beyond us. That’s the Advent story. I hope we all take the time to really listen to this story and I hope we all take the time to really live-out this story in authentic ways.
Keep our beloved church in your prayers. I remember you in mine and I look forward to seeing you soon.
