SAVE THE DATE: an online book study on Zoom for Rev. Michael Mather’s book is beginning on Wednesday, April 28, at 7:00 pm MDT, and continuing on the next two Wednesdays, May 5 and 12, at the same time. Scroll down to find the Zoom meeting information.
Pastor Mike’s book is entitled Having Nothing, Possessing Everything: Finding Abundant Communities in Unexpected Places. The study will be led by Pastor Mike and De’Amon Harges, who came to First Church last summer and will be familiar to readers of the book. It is strongly encouraged that you read the book to participate in the study. Our time together will not just be a review, but also an exploration since many folks in our community have been asking how the ideas in the book can apply to First Church. The book study is a precursor to some upcoming church-wide planning that will begin to vision our church’s future, a timely opportunity since a new normal and new opportunities are evolving due to the pandemic.
If you have not read the book, the church has several copies, and there are also books available for purchase. Email Connie Takamine if you’d like to borrow or purchase a copy.
If you currently have one of the church’s copies of Mike’s book and are finished reading it, please return it to the church so we can make it available for others to read. Email the Church Office to arrange a time to drop off your book.
Thank you to the Adult Education committee at First Church for organizing this book study.
