A Special Sunday: Saying Goodbye to Our Beloved Evanne Browne on 8/21
August 21, 2016 @ 10:30 am - 12:30 pm
Evanne Browne has been the Director of Music (and the Facility Use Manager) at First United Methodist Church of Boulder for almost 11 years! During that time, she has led the Chancel Choir and the Bell Choirs in Sunday after Sunday of joyous, beautiful music that has enhanced our worship experiences and touched our hearts. Evanne also opened our Chancel Choir to “friends,” additional singers from the community, each year to perform major works from the choral repertoire, often with guest instrumentalists. The Chancel Choir and Friends have performed such choral masterpieces as Maurice Durufle’s Requiem, Joseph Haydn’s Lord Nelson Mass, Daniel Pinkham’s Christmas Cantata, Gabriel Faure’s Requiem, Claudio Monteverdi’s Vespers of 1610, and J. S. Bach’s Magnificat.
Evanne’s life plans are taking her to the Washington, DC area at the end of August, so it is with sadness, but also with joy and best wishes for Evanne, that we will gather to thank her and bid her a fond farewell on Sunday, August 21, during our 10:30 am worship service.
The Chancel Choir and Friends will gather one last time under Evanne’s direction to sing for our worship service, and we will also bless Evanne as she prepares for the next chapter of her life.
Our celebration of Evanne will continue at coffee hour after worship.
Please join us to say goodbye to Evanne, and send her to the east coast with our collective love and very best wishes.
