Music for the Soul: Geoff Tyndall, horn, and Stella Pradeau, piano
June 17, 2018 @ 10:30 am - 11:30 am
We are excited to present our summer music series, Music for the Soul, from June 3 through the first Sunday of September! During the summer months, our Chancel Choir takes a much-deserved break, so we invite guest musicians to perform during our 10:30 am Sunday worship services. This summer’s line-up runs the gamut from classical to jazz to bluegrass! Check out the line-up (subject to change, and still developing!), and join us for some uplifting summer “music for the soul!”
On Sunday, June 17, during our 10:30 am worship service, our Music for the Soul will be provided by Geoff Tyndall, horn, and Stella Pradeau, piano.
Geoff Tyndall is a Senior Scientist at NCAR here in Boulder. He started playing tenor horn in his local brass band in England when he was 11. After moving to Boulder in 1986, he eventually discovered the Rocky Mountain Brassworks British-style brass band, and has been playing with them since 2001. The Brassworks play a diverse selection of music at a variety of venues in the Denver area throughout the year.
Currently a private teacher and popular choral collaborator in the Boulder area, Stella Pradeau is a graduate of the University of Colorado where she studied with pianists Angela Cheng and Alvin Chow and successfully completed her Master’s Degree in Piano Performance. While at CU, Stella was a graduate assistant and recipient of the Norris Piano Award. Other awards and honors include a year of study in Paris at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse as a Rotary Scholar (1992-93) and semi-finalist placement at the International Hilton Head Piano Competition (1997). Stella collaborates with the Boulder Children’s Chorale and Cantabile–a mixed voices auditioned choir, and is the present staff musician at Valmont Community Presbyterian Church. Recently, Stella was a guest artist with the local women’s choir, Resonance, and also had the honor of accompanying Boulder Valley School District’s first elementary Honors Choir.
