Zentangle Art Workshop
February 25 @ 11:45 am - 1:30 pm
Come join us Sunday, February 25th after worship for a Zentangle Art
Workshop lead by Vicky Youcha! Food will be available in the Parlor prior to
the workshop, and the workshop will take place in the Chapel.
The Zentangle Method®, created by Rick Roberts and Maria Thomas, is a
relaxing and fun way to create beautiful images by drawing structured
patterns. These patterns are called tangles. Using lines, dots, orbs, and
simple curves, we’ll create beautiful images in a relaxing and supportive
environment. In Zentangle art there are no mistakes, the company doesn’t
even sell erasers!
The workshop will be lead by Vicky Youcha. Vicky enjoyed a rewarding first
career working with young children and their families. In addition to a
doctorate in special education she holds a certificate in nonprofit executive
management. Vicky has been a preschool special education teacher, the director of an early intervention program, university faculty, the executive
director of a children’s advocacy center, and a private educational
consultant. Ten years ago she began taking classes at the Denver Botanic Gardens School of Botanical Art and Illustration and earned a Foundational
Certificate in Botanical Art and Illustration and a Diploma in Botanical Art.
She draws and paints with several groups in Boulder and continues to take
classes at the Denver Botanic Gardens. Vicky lives in Boulder with her husband and dog, Shorty. Vicky and Shorty are part of the Canine Corps at Boulder Community Hospital.
Let’s give Vicky a warm First Church welcome and come be Zen together!
