Save the Dates: AFKS Camp is August 5-9, 2019!

A Note from Out-Going Camp Director Erin Roof

Happy January AFKS Alumni Families and Staff!

I hope you have had a prosperous year and half since we last held camp in Summer 2017. For our campers, I can only imagine how much everyone has grown since then.

Arts for Kids’ Souls is a camp experience that transcends words- I believe not only for campers but for families and staff as well. It was my honor and privilege to be the director of Arts for Kids Souls’ for two summers, 2016 and 2017. It is with a heavy heart that I share with all of you, that I will not be returning as director of AFKS this summer. Professional and personal opportunities have presented themselves, and while I will miss camp very much, I am excited about the path ahead for me and my children.

With that announcement, I am also very excited (and grateful) to introduce Stephanie Moffitt, the new Director of Family Life Ministries at First United Methodist Church, and the new director of AFKS Camp!

Meet Our New AFKS Camp Director, Stephanie Moffitt!

Hello AFKS Families, Volunteers, & Staff!

I am very excited about taking over the planning and organization for camp this year at FUMC Boulder.

I have heard many great things about AFKS Camp and the experiences that the camp provides. My main goal for camp this year will be to offer the same level of creative fun, imaginative learning, and community building that has occurred in previous years. We are already working on details that will make this year an exciting one at AFKS.

Camp this year will be the week of August 5th to August 9th, from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm.

Registration details and forms will be available via this page in February. Our objective is to keep this camp affordable for all of those who want to attend. Info for staff, volunteers, and junior counselors will also be sent out in February.

If you have any questions about camp, please feel free to email me. I look forward to a wonderful camp experience with all of you this year!

What is AFKS Camp?

Arts for Kids’ Souls is a week-long day camp for children, rising Kindergarten through 5th grade, of music, art, dance, yoga, drama, and storytelling! Our camp is staffed by trained, experienced, and caring teachers who recognize the role and value that the arts play in developing our souls- not just in childhood but across the span of a lifetime. Our staff believe that creative expression is a spiritual gift that gives us the opportunity to draw closer to our true selves, closer to one another, and closer to the beauty of life. It is our hope for all of our campers that they have these opportunities for learning, self-expression, and joy!

Arts for Kids Souls (AFKS) Camp was created in 2011 as the childrens arm of Arts For the Soul, a not-for-profit organization whose focus is to celebrate the power of the arts to touch our human spirits in meaningful, energizing, and enlarging ways. Check out the Arts for the Soul webpage.
