Our neighbors at St. John’s Episcopal Church (across the street from FUMC) run the Whittier Neighborhood Pantry out of their church to help folks in our neighborhood with food security. St. John’s is expanding the Whittier Neighborhood Pantry to accommodate clients from the Attention Homes Apartments; move-in is now being planned for October 2019.
Members of the FUMC community are invited to help stock the Whittier Pantry for the fall. In addition, volunteers will be needed to help staff the Pantry on the day of the week when Attention Homes clients will be served (TBD). If you’re interested in volunteering or learning more, please email Suzanne Hoover.
Here is a list of items needed in the Whittier Pantry. Donations of the below items may be brought to St. John’s Episcopal Church during Parish Office Hours: Monday through Thursday, 9:00 am to noon, and 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Monetary donations are welcome. Checks should be made payable to St. John’s with “Whittier Pantry” in the memo line.
