The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.
The Lord makes me lie down in green pastures;
the Lord leads me beside still waters;
the Lord restores my soul.
The Lord leads me in right paths
for his name’s sake.
“There can be no vulnerability without risk; there can be no community without vulnerability, there can be no peace, and ultimately no life, without community.”
From M. Scott Peck
Lenten Practice: Is your life overly full of stuff? Get two index cards. On one, write down something you are willing to let go of, focusing on letting go of “stuff” in your life. On the other card, write one of your spiritual treasures — a way in which you are rich toward God. Put the cards in a place where you will see them regularly as a reminder to seek heavenly treasure rather than earthly things.
Lenten Prayer: Dear God, we have trusted in material things rather than in you. Forgive us. Lead us to lasting change for the good of ourselves, for the good of others, and for the good of all creation. Amen.
