What FUMC Means to Me: A Place to Belong
by Arianna McCue

First United Methodist Church (FUMC) is a peaceful, calm place where people can gather and be with God. I think of FUMC as a place where everyone can belong, including me. FUMC is:
•A welcoming place that anyone can come to.
•Family and friends.
•A place where people can worship God.
•Christmas.
•The squeaky pew that my family tries to avoid.
Arts for Kids’ Souls.
•Youth group and confirmation.

Focus Scripture: Jesus said,…“As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.”
John 9:5

Lenten Practice: To help preserve the environment, give up drinking from plastic water bottles during Lent, then make it a permanent habit.

Lenten Prayer: God of all creation, you made this incredible world and gave us the responsibility to care for it. Forgive us for our selfishness and self-centeredness that has caused us to care more about ourselves than the earth. Fill us with hope for our home, our planet. Amen.
