The 2019 Mountain Sky Annual Conference was held at the Montana Convention Center in Billings, MT from June 13th-16th. First UMC of Boulder had 5 representatives attend this year: Rev. Matthias Krier, Lay Representative Barbara Middleton, and Lay equalization members Roger Smith, Nancy Moore, and Stephanie Moffitt.

The theme for this year was “Love. Heal. Thrive: Rebuilding a Worthy Temple.” Annual Conference is a gathering of lay and clergy leaders who work together on passing conference legislation for the Mountain Sky Area. In addition to doing legislative work, those who attend Annual Conference worship together, share meals with each other, and serve together. During the day on Friday, all attendees of Annual Conference worked in some capacity in Billings, serving community ministries around the area. Legislative work, worship, hospitality, and service always create the framework for each Annual Conference gathering, but this year members of the Annual Conference also elected 2020 General Conference and Jurisdictional Conference delegates to represent the Mountain Sky area next year at these larger, wider church gatherings.

Finally, Annual Conference this year concluded with the Honoring and Ordering Ministry Service where we celebrated retiring clergy and welcomed newly commissioned and ordained clergy into their work in the church.
