Yesterday on Ground Hog’s Day, Punxsutawney Phil emerged from his long winter’s nap in Pennsylvania only to see his shadow, thereby assuring us that we will have six more weeks of winter. This is not good news to me and so I comfort myself by saying Punxsutawney Phil knows nothing about our weather at the base of our beautiful mountains.

The FUMC Youth will be continuing their discussion of world poverty and hunger this evening (with help from youth group volunteers Alison and Jessie as I am all hopped up on cold medicine and sleep-deprived). So far, our youth have learned about wealth distribution in the world and facts about global hunger.
