The newest exhibit in First Church’s unique and beautiful Sanctuary Art Gallery, “SEEN,” invites us to open our eyes wide and SEE deeply into each other’s, and particularly our teen’s worlds, with fresh eyes and clear attention. The teen-inspired, yet intergenerational, “SEEN” exhibit and performance series has been inspired by the mental health crisis among teens in our own backyard, which has been resulting in substance abuse and, tragically, a number of deaths by suicide in recent years.
We aim to cultivate mental health, creative expression, and human connection in the difficult world we live in through this series of intergenerational creative events and experiences. We all need to be SEEN.
This exhibit is an invitation to open our eyes and pay attention.
When Can I See the Exhibit?
You can enjoy “SEEN on Sunday mornings before or after the 10:30 am worship service, and during special events such as the December 2nd opening celebration, and the January 19th closing celebration.
