Resources for Learning More about Climate Change and Faith

Our Church Library

Our church library is a great resource for learning more about climate change, and the connection between our faith and our stewardship of the Earth.

One example: Praying with the Earth: A Prayerbook for Peace by John Philip Newell. Here’s an excerpt:

May the deep blessings of earth be with us.
May the fathomless soundings of seas surge in our soul.
May boundless stretches of the universe echo in our depths
to open us to wonder
to strengthen us for love
to humble us with gratitude
that we may find ourselves in one another
that we may lose ourselves in gladness
that we may give ourselves to peace.

Our library also has video resources, including the documentary Racing Extinction. It is well worth watching. Filmmaker Louie Psihoyos lived here in Boulder while this film was being made. He is a powerful story teller. Visit the film’s website to learn more!

Want to investigate these or other resources in our church library? Drop by Monday-Thursday, 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM (if you find a locked library door, stop in the church office first and we’ll happily let you in), or Sunday mornings before or after church. Please email Church Librarian Nancy Moore with any questions.
