Dr. King is the Karen Lake Buttrey Director of the Lake Institute on Faith & Giving at the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy at IUPUI, where he also serves as an assistant professor of philanthropic studies. A historian and ordained minister in the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship (CBF), King is the author of the book God’s Internationalists: World Vision and the Age of Evangelical Humanitarianism. The book, which Dr. King will discuss in Forum (9:00 am in the church parlor), traces the history of World Vision, which, over the past 70 years, has grown from a small missionary agency to the largest Christian humanitarian organization in the world.
