Welcome Home Sunday is September 9! This special Sunday is the first day of our new children’s Sunday School year (new curriculum this year!) and is also our Chancel Choir’s first Sunday back after their summer break. After church, we’ll have an ice cream social on the patio.
Here is the schedule for this special Sunday:
Godly Play Sunday School for kids 3 years old and up in the Godly Play classroom (first floor, beside the nursery); childcare for children younger than 3 in the Nursery.
Fellowship and coffee for parents and caregivers in the Library
Forum in the Parlor
Bible Workbench in the upstairs Conference Room
Chancel Choir rehearsal in the Choir Room (second floor)
Worship Service in the Sanctuary
Children aged 3rd grade and younger will gather for a Children’s Moment during worship, and then head to a time of children’s worship led by Family Life Director Stephanie Moffitt and parent volunteers. Parents will pick children up from the Parlor after worship. Older children, 4th grade and up, are invited to stay in the worship service with their families. Middle & High School youth are invited to assist with leading Children’s Worship in the Parlor, or remain in worship.
To learn more about our Sunday morning offerings for children and their families, please visit our Children’s page.
AFTER CHURCH ON THE PATIO
Ice Cream Social! Our youth will scoop ice cream and accept donations toward next year’s youth mission trip. To learn more about upcoming programs for youth at First United Methodist Church, please visit our Youth page.
September 9 is also Boulder Pridefest, a celebration of LGBTQ culture organized by our partner agency, Out Boulder County. Pridefest runs from 11:30 AM to 6:30 PM in Boulder’s Central Park, and includes live music, food, games, and many vendor booths to peruse. Our church will have a table at Boulder Pridefest this year. If you’re interested in helping out, either on the day of Pridefest or with planning, please look for a sign-up sheet at church on Sundays, or email the church office. Thanks!
