The holiday season can be difficult. During a season when we’re all expected to be merry and bright, the very real grief, loneliness, and disappointments in our everyday lives do not magically disappear. And the pandemic has only intensified these feelings for many of us. Join us for this service where you can come as you are, and let the peaceful energy and candlelight of the labyrinth soothe your soul and provide a space for all you hold.
We’ll gather for the Blue Christmas service on our peaceful indoor labyrinth at 3:00 PM on Sunday, December 19, 2021. Masks are required. There is no admission charge; all are welcome at this free community event.
Parking Suggestions: Parking is available in the underground garage below the TGTHR (formerly Attention Homes) Apartments, next door to First Church. To access this garage, turn into the alley from either 14th or 15th Street (between Spruce and Pine Streets), and enter the garage opposite the church building. Paid street parking in the neighborhood is free of charge on Sundays. There are also two paid parking lots on 15th Street, both within two blocks of the church. One is between Walnut and Pearl, and one is between Pearl and Spruce. To get to either garage, turn onto 15th from Canyon Blvd since 15th runs one way (north). Please leave parking spaces in the church’s circle drive available for folks who need closer access to the building.
Public Transit: First Church is located two blocks from the downtown Boulder Walnut Street bus station (corner of 14th and Walnut). Both local and regional busses serve this station.
YOU are the LIGHT of the WORLD! All are welcome at First Church, including LGBTQIA+ folks and their loved ones. Black lives matter.
