Worship Info for Families with Young Children

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Hello FUMC Families!

As we return to in-person worship, here are a few details about having your young children in worship:

– There will be pews marked with signs where families with young children can sit, socially distanced from others. We know that some of our youngest who will join us in worship cannot be vaccinated yet, so please know we are taking steps to create space for them with special seating areas.

– Sunday school and nursery care will NOT be offered. Families are invited to sit together during worship.

– We will have baskets in the narthex filled with Worship Boxes for kids. These boxes will have various activities for kids to do and play with during worship. There will be two types of boxes: one for younger kids (age 3-8) and one for older kids (age 8 and up). Your children can use one of these during worship and return it to the basket in the narthex before you leave. These kits will then be cleaned and sanitized each week, before we gather again for worship.

– When we celebrate Communion, as a measure of safety for your young children, families will be invited to receive the elements first, ahead of others, so they can receive the elements in an uncrowded manner and then return to their seats. Pastor Mike will give directions about this during worship on Sunday.
