Volunteer Opportunity: River Work & All Roads

Homelessness is a big problem? Would you like to be part of the solution?

Loneliness and isolation can be among the worst parts of experiencing homelessness. We are developing a team of volunteers committed to address that problem. We also believe that you will be more effective at helping others when you have looked into your own experience.

Join us in doing some challenging and rewarding work on yourself that will equip you to better help others. Drawing on techniques pioneered by Steve Halley and Dorthy Stucky Halley, experienced practitioner Jaime Encinas will lead a group on a six-week journey into one’s own “stuff.” By doing what Encinas calls “River Work,” participants will be better able to understand how their own experiences have shaped their world, build stronger relationships with the people around them, and emerge empowered to help those who often have the least access to resources.

We will follow that experience with an additional seven weeks of direct work at the All Roads shelter, Boulder County’s largest emergency shelter for individuals experiencing homelessness.
